Zoey's first bottle!

I just thought it would be fun to post Zoey's first bottle video along with her first solids.
It's easy to see that this little girl LOVES her food! Probably almost as much as we love her :)

And this video of her first bath also needed to be posted... because it's makes me smile.

Day to Day Posts!

Since I am awful at blogging (which I have been told on several occasions) I have decided to try a different method. I'm hoping that this will make it easier and less time consuming for me which will hopefully result in me posting more regularly, which is better for everyone else. Since October I have been keeping a journal for each of the babies. I have been jotting down a little note when something new or something funny happens. Since I am a much faster typer than writer (and I have an irrational fear of something happening to the notebooks) I have recently switched to computerized journaling. I have typed up all of the past entries and have continued to post new entries on their blogs. You can find this under the "Day to Day" link. Just to warn you, these entries are written to the babies, not to you... and I find even the most trivial things of utmost importance when it comes to my kids. You may not find everything as fascinating as I do, but feel free to read it if you'd like!

By posting everything they are doing on an almost daily basis on the day to day page, I am planning on only posting pictures on this page. Hopefully this works and everyone who follows these adorable babies will be happier!

Time flies when you are...

Exhausted
Overwhelmed.
Surrounded by diapers bottles and pacifiers.
and
(most importantly)
blissfully happy being a extremely busy mom to two beautiful, incredible, amazing babies.

So what I'm really trying to do is make excuses as to why Zoey is ONE MONTH old and this post is way overdue. Hopefully I can catch everyone up on our sweet little girl.

  • First of all Zoey is the sweetest baby girl I have ever met. We had her for two days before we even heard her cry! Unfortunately this was quite content baby was not to last. Over the past four weeks she has become quite a bit more opinionated and is now sharing these opinions with the world more freely. I'm pretty sure that her main complaint has been that we starve her... while entirely untrue, she definitely seems to believe it. In fact she has successfully convinced several grandparents that she has not eaten in a week. Very convincing.
  • Now this brings us to two very distinct attributes of Zoey's: One being that she is an incredibly good sleeper! From day one she was went 4-5 hours between feedings. By one week she selpt EIGHT hours at night!! When you contrast this with our little Max... let's just say he was (and to be honest, still is) A LOT more demanding than our little girl. Trust me, we know what a blessing this is! I'm not sure how we would've handled two "Maxes" at the same time!
  • Secondly, Zoey LOVES to eat... correction: she loves to have you hold a bottle in her mouth. She has become a finicky eater. For the first week or two she would suck down anything and everything you gave her in a matter of minutes with no regard to how full her tiny tummy was. Then she decided that while she would still eat for everyone else in the world, she would simply pretend to eat when her Aunt Noelle was feeding her. This then extended to the rest of the world, which made feeding her fairly frustrating and extremely time consuming. At the moment it all depends on her mood. She will normally eat what you give her and demand more... but she still like to pretend eat every once in awhile... which we all really enjoy. :)
  • Zoey enjoys arching her back so that her head nearly touches her bottom. This is quite impressive.
  • She learned to smile at the astonishingly young age of 3 weeks. They were rare and fleeting but they are becoming more and more common. They are genuine open mouthed smiles. Trust me... you can tell they're real, and they're beautiful.
  • Zoey has a little white nub of a tooth on the top left side of her mouth. She's pretty young to have a tooth... but we think that this, along with her smiles, is just a manifestation of the sibling rivalry to come. Apparently she isn't going to let 7 measly weeks hold her back :)
  • She is incredibly good at repurposing her headband bows and flowers as blindfolds and eye patches. What she doesn't know is what an important role these play in hiding her rapidly growing bald spot...
Anyway, this is just a little bit about baby Zoey. She is adorable, quirky, and a maybe little crazy sometimes... but we just LOVE her!

Here are some pictures of our angel!

Since this post has taken me FOREVER to post... there are now about a million more pictures of her that need to be shared with the world.

I'm going to work on that.

But for now enjoy our beautiful baby girl!
